Invesco Perpetual’s Neil Woodford is taking over from Fidelity as manager of the Edinburgh Investment Trust with immediate effect. Fidelity’s John Stavis took a sabbatical from the group in June, relinquishing control of the higher income portion of the Trust, which the Board had singled out as failing to meet expectations. The £1bn vehicle is the largest income growth trust in the UK. It focuses mainly on large UK companies from a variety of sectors and its objective is to achieve capital growth above the FTSE All-Share and dividend growth above the rate of UK inflation.
