FE Research casts an eye across the investment universe to find lesser-known funds for your portfolios.

Funds tend to need at least a track record of three years before they take on significant inflows, but FE Alpha Manager Chris Reid’s Majedie UK Income fund is an exception. Launched in December 2011, it has already grown to £525m, taking £240m in the last six months alone. Reid and the rest of the team are big names in the fund of funds and institutional space, with co-heads of multimanager at Schroders Robin McDonald and Marcus Brookes, and Jupiter Merlin’s John Chatfeild-Roberts among their biggest admirers.
