European funds have had a strong run since Mario Draghi’s now famous “do whatever it takes” speech, but their terrible time in 2011 ensures they are still well behind their UK and US counterparts since the financial crisis. Valuations on the continent remain lower than in other developed markets, especially in peripherals countries. One fund currently playing the continuing recovery in Europe is FE Alpha Manager Barry Norris’ FP Argonaut European Alpha fund, which has a high degree of exposure to Italy [18%], Ireland [12%] and Greece [9%].
