Fund management data analyst Inalytics has created a system that attributes a number to active management skill. This is simply expressed in a hit rate (the number of correct calls made when buying or selling stock) and the win loss ratio (did the good decisions outweigh the poor calls). According to Inalytics chief executive, Rick Di Mascio, data across over 1,000 managers from around the world shows even a good fund manager only gets 51% of their decisions right.
