While the eurozone has been plagued by a series of problems over recent months, figures reveal it has managed to avoid officially slipping into recession thanks to an unexpectedly robust Germany. Germany’s economy recorded growth of 0.5% in the first three months of the year, compared to the eight eurozone members currently in recession, including Italy and Spain which contracted by 0.8% and 0.3% respectively.
