Latin American equities have been out of favour with investors for some time, but things could be about to change, writes BlackRock's Will Landers.

Latin American equities have been out of favour with investors for some time. Excitement with Brazil following its strong recovery post the 2008 crisis eroded as the country's growth rate fell every year this decade, while inflation remained at the high end of the target range. The country's investment rate has also not improved.  Then it was Mexico's turn to attract investor interest with sweeping reforms passed by newly elected President Peña Nieto during 2013, only to see the optimism subdued by low economic growth and a relatively slow pace of implementation for said reforms.
