Peter Sanderson will focus on "further simplifying" GAM's business

GAM has appointed former managing director at BlackRock Peter Sanderson as its new group CEO, succeeding interim CEO David Jacob, who will take over as chairman.

Sanderson, who takes up the role on 1 September, will be focused on "further simplifying" GAM's business and "concentrating on areas of recognised expertise where GAM has competitive edge in order to put the business back on a growth trajectory", the firm announced today (30 July). Update: GAM to cut 18 investment manager positions Current chair Hugh Scott-Barrett, who steps down from his role on 1 October, will remain a member of the board of directors until GAM's next annual general meeting in 2020.
