David is a senior managing director, a member of The Boston Company's Management, Investment and Global Insight committees and lead portfolio manager of the Opportunistic Value strategies, a suite of long-only and long/short strategies that employ a proprietary intrinsic-value investment approach with a focus on small- and mid-cap equities. In aggregate, David and his team manage approximately $10 billion in assets.
David began his investment career in 1998 as an analyst on the Opportunistic Value team, covering the Consumer Discretionary, Financials and Technology sectors. In 2003, he was named a portfolio manager on the team's mid-cap strategies. In 2005, David became lead portfolio manager and head of the Opportunistic Value team. Under David's leadership, the team has enhanced its intrinsic-valuation approach, expanded its capabilities to include unique private-enterprise skills and incorporated macro insights into the portfolio-construction process. In recent years, the team has received a number of independent accolades for performance and risk-adjusted returns.

Before joining The Boston Company, David was a senior consultant for Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group and provided strategic and operational advice to Fortune 500 companies. Additional practical work experience included the design, construction and management of the Dannon Company's largest North American yogurt manufacturing plant.
David received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. from New York University. In addition, he taught macroeconomics courses at New York University under the supervision of Dr. David Backus, current chair of NYU's Department of Economics. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
