The government seems to know the answer to the above question as it has commissioned a report/review into the area, but I still find myself a little confused by the concept.

Clearly, it is an investment trust managed by Neil Woodford and he has an investment thesis, which still makes perfect sense to me. Namely, invest in a range of businesses across a number of sectors which require capital to develop and grow. The common denominator is all require patience on the part of the investor - the provider of capital - to see a return. In Woodford's case, he is allocating reasonable amounts of capital, hence he is in a different investment universe to some of the VCT and EIS firms also giving money, who are themselves in a different space from Seed EIS or the h...
