Artemis' Ennett and Baines gears up for short-dated high yield fund launch

Concentrated portfolio of 75 to 100 positions worldwide

The latest additions to Artemis' fixed income team are set to launch their first fund, the Short-Dated Global High Yield strategy, which will be "almost identical" to the fund they ran at Kames Capital.

Speaking to Investment Week at the publication's conference in early June, managers of the new fund David Ennett and Stephen Baines said it is the "first of a bunch the group is launching" and will be a concentrated portfolio of 75 to 100 short-dated high yield positions from around the globe. The small difference from the fund they previously ran at Kames is there is a slightly higher position size limit due to the pair finding liquidity in the short-dated market "much better than anticipated". Baines explained: "Many institutional investors have targets of index yield plus 50 or 100...
