Schroders names Bateman head of equities as Richards moves to adviser role

Schroders has promoted its UK and European equities boss Rory Bateman to head of equities, replacing Nicky Richards who is moving to a role as a senior adviser for the firm.

Starting in his new role from March 2019, Bateman (pictured) takes over from Richards, who has held the position since re-joining the firm in 2014. At the same time, she will move to role where she will mentor and advise the firm's leaders and managers. Bateman joined Schroders in 2008 from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he spent over a decade as a portfolio manager. In 2013, he replaced Richard Buxton as the firm's head of UK and European equities. The firm said it is looking in-house to find his successor as European equities head.
