Kames CEO begins hunt for fixed income managers

Recruitment process follows four-manager exodus last month

Kames Capital's CEO Martin Davis has told Investment Week the group has already begun conversations with fixed income managers with the view to replacing some of the resources lost following the exit of bond managers Stephen Snowden, David Ennett, Stephen Baines and Juan Valenzuela.

In an exclusive interview, the CEO said he is "confident" the strategies will continue with their strong performance, but nonetheless he is looking to recruit for the team. It was announced on 30 November the team were leaving the firm and Investment Week revealed on 3 December they will be joining Artemis next year. Snowden had worked at Kames since 2011 and was most recently co-head of fixed income while Ennett joined in 2016 and was head of high yield.
