Artemis Investment Management has hired Ross Millar as chief risk officer and partner, joining in December.
Millar joins from Deloitte, where he leads its investment management risk advisory practice for EMEA and serves as a member of its investment management executive team.
During his time at Deloitte, which he joined in 2006, Millar has advised a range of asset managers and performed a number of senior secondments across both risk and compliance.
In his new role, Millar will oversee the compliance and risk functions, with head of risk Ian Hamilton and head of compliance Graeme Mitchell reporting to him.
Artemis' senior partner, Mark Murray, said: "Risk and compliance are very rightly an increasingly important part of fund management.
"I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of Ross' experience and knowledge to lead these areas for us.
"We look forward to Ross' input as we continue to concentrate on our clients' needs and expectations over the years ahead."
