Investec Asset Management has appointed Richard Haxe as managing director of its European client group.
Haxe will be responsible for developing the business, managing the firm's European client base and engaging investors across the region.
He joins from Wellington Asset Management where he spent four years, most recently as head of relationship group for EMEA.
Prior to Wellington, he held a number of roles at Alliance Bernstein over a ten-year period including head of its EMEA business.
John Green, global head of client group at Investec AM, commented: "The appointment of Richard to our team affirms the commitment we have made to our European clients.
"Richard's wealth of expertise, insight and relationships will contribute to our efforts to develop our advisor and institutional relationships as we further expand our presence on the ground, and are entrusted with the assets of the region's most established investors.
"As we continue to develop solutions tailored to our clients in these regions, I am excited to have an individual of Richard's calibre join our team."
Green will assume the role of co-CEO of the firm in October after it was announced in February founding CEO Hendrik du Toit is to become co-CEO of the wider Investec Group.
