Franklin Templeton acquires Sandy Nairn's Edinburgh Partners

Nairn returning to Franklin Templeton

Franklin Templeton Investments has agreed to acquire independent fund manager Edinburgh Partners, which is headed up by Sandy Nairn, former equity research director at Franklin, and houses two investment trusts as well as a number of institutional mandates.

Nairn will remain in his role as chief executive and investment partner of Edinburgh Partners and will become chairman of Templeton Global Equity Group, reporting to Stephen Dover, head of equities at Franklin Templeton, subject to regulatory approval.
