Franklin Templeton acquires Sandy Nairn's Edinburgh Partners

Franklin Templeton Investments has agreed to acquire independent fund manager Edinburgh Partners, which is headed up by Sandy Nairn, former equity research director at Franklin, and houses two investment trusts as well as a number of institutional mandates.

Nairn will remain in his role as chief executive and investment partner of Edinburgh Partners and will become chairman of Templeton Global Equity Group, reporting to Stephen Dover, head of equities at Franklin Templeton, subject to regulatory approval. This will be Nairn's second tenure at Franklin Templeton having spent ten years at the firm between 1990 and 2000 as an executive vice president and the director of global equity research, worked alongside the late Sir John Templeton.  Headquartered in Scotland with offices in London and the US, Edinburgh Partners was formed in 2003 and...
