The manager of the Japanese Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) has warned asset managers are at risk of being replaced by artificial intelligence (AI) in the future.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Hiromichi Mizuno, chief investment officer of the world's largest pension fund, said he believed the impact of artificial intelligence would be the biggest change for the sector over the next five to ten years. This could have a significant impact on the work of asset managers as investors focus on different themes.
