Former co-director of global macro research at Brandywine Global Investment Management Chen Zhao has launched independent research firm Alpine Macro with former colleagues at BCA Research Group Tony Boeckh and David Abramson.
Alpine Macro will look to provide analysis, forecasts, insights and actionable investment strategy suggestions.
The firm will focus on providing contrarian views in order to help investors manage risk and make asset allocation decisions.
Zhao was chief global strategist at BCA Research with Boeckh, who was chairman and editor-in-chief of BCA, and Abramson, who was chief US strategist.
The firm will provide investment research on a weekly basis to clients while also publishing special reports, feature reports, idea alerts and quarterly outlook reports.
Zhao said: "I am very excited to be partnering with Tony and Dave; we are a group of like-minded people who are intensely curious about global financial markets and love to figure out the key forces and themes that dictate market trends.
"Our goal is to provide exceptional research and well-articulated rationale for all of our recommendations."
Boeckh commented: "Now more than ever, investors need big-picture analysis to help guide their investment decisions.
"I am thrilled to be working with Chen and Dave again to provide in depth macroeconomic research and analysis to capture the key inflection points in the markets."
Abramson added: "Our aim is to help investors cut through the noise and provide them with macro insights and analysis that helps to shape and guide their investment process.
"Combined with our proprietary indicators and models, our objective is to provide consistent, sound analysis, context and perspective on global financial markets."
