Psigma Investment Management has appointed Peter Seamer as investment director.
Seamer joins Psigma from Arbuthnot Latham where he worked for seven years as investment manager.
He will report to Psigma's managing director Darrell Mercer.
Chief executive John Howard-Smith said Seamer's appointment would help the firm in its expansion plans.
Howard-Smith said: "Peter brings a wealth of industry knowledge and his experience and skills will greatly complement our core investment proposition of delivering 'real' inflation-plus returns, rather than benchmarking ourselves against indices that we feel are less relevant for clients.
"We have strong ambitions to grow our business in the coming years and I fully expect Peter to be an integral part of our future success."
Seamer said: "I am delighted to be joining Psigma during this exciting growth phase. The strength of the investment proposition, quality of the people and excellent corporate culture make Psigma a market- leading organisation that I am very much looking forward to being part of."
