Former Lazard MD to become R&M chair

River & Mercantile Group has appointed Jonathan Dawson, a former investment banker at Lazard, as chairman of its board, effective 1 October.

Dawson previously worked at Lazard for over 20 years as managing director of its investment banking division,  and spent time at the Ministry of Defence before co-founding Penfida, a corporate finance adviser to pension fund trustees. Following the sad passing away of previous chairman Paul Bradshaw earlier this year, Peter Warry became acting chairman of R&M.
