Former Ignis chief economist Thomson to join ex-colleagues at Manulife AM

Former Ignis chief economist Stuart Thomson is set to join Manulife Asset Management, reuniting with former colleagues Chris Fellingham, Grant Peterkin and Claude Chene.

Thomson worked at Ignis from 2006 as chief economist until it was acquired by Standard Life Investments in July 2014 and remained on the team following the merger. He also held responsibilities for international bonds. Prior to joining Ignis, he worked at Chase Manhattan Bank and Nikko Europe. At Manulife, he will form part of the liquid alternatives team, Investment Week understands, which is headed up by Fellingham, who joined last June as head of liquid alternative strategies to set up the division.
