ETF snapshot: Outflows from small-cap equities accelerate

During the week ending 30 June investors sold €1.3bn of small-cap stock ETFs, according to data from TrackInsight, while global stocks and investment grade bonds took in the highest inflows.

In a continuation of the trend that started the previous week, investors sold small-cap equity ETFs. Over the two weeks, the sector has seen outflows of nearly €1.5bn.  Meanwhile, US equity ETFs continues to suffer outflows, with investors taking a further €2.9bn out of their ETF holdings. US markets had been flying during the first half of 2017 as the Nasdaq, S&P 500 and Dow Jones all hit record levels, but the strong run has stalled in the last few weeks leading to continued outflows from US large-cap stock ETFs.
