JOHCM's John Wood to retire after 26-year career

John Wood is to retire from JO Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM) later this year, with his £1.8bn UK Opportunities fund being handed to Rachel Reutter and Michael Ulrich.

Wood will retire from the investment management industry on 30 September 2017, after running the fund since 2005 and a 26-year career. Co-managers Reutter and Ulrich will assume fund management responsibilities with Reutter working on the fund since 2012, while Ulrich joined in 2015 from BMO GAM. Prior to joining JOHCM, Wood worked at Newton Investment Management and Ernst & Young.
