Former MPC member Dame Barker to join Man Group board

Former member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Dame Katharine Barker is to be appointed to the board of Man Group as a non-executive director.

Effective 1 April 2017, Dame (Kate) Barker (pictured) will advise the business and also become a member of the board's remuneration committee. She served on the MPC from 2001 to 2010, during which time she also led two major policy reviews on housing and planning. She has over 30 years' experience as a top level government and business economist, and has held roles as senior adviser to Credit Suisse from 2010 to 2016 and as chief economic adviser for the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) from 1994 to 2001.
