Former Miton manager Hamilton lands at Polar Capital

Fund launch due by year-end

Georgina Hamilton has joined Polar Capital to head up its soon-to-be launched UK value franchise, seven months after leaving Miton Group.

Her Miton co-manager George Godber is understood to be joining the firm "in due course" as he has a year-long notice period. Polar Capital expects to launch the UK Value Opportunities fund by the end of the year.  Hamilton (pictured) and Godber previously ran a successful UK Value Opportunities fund at Miton for three years, before announcing their departure in April. Assets in the fund peaked at £869m on 31 March 2016, but have since fallen to £362m, as at 31 August, according to FE. It is now run by Andrew Jackson.
