Manulife Asset Management has appointed Neil Summers, previously at Aberdeen Asset Management, as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) client service and sales support.
Summers (pictured) began his position on 19 September, which is a new role for the company created as part of its expansion into the EMEA region.
He will be based on London and report to Lauren Fleming, head of global distribution services. His key focus will be on building a team to service and support institutional and wholesale clients across the region.
Summers spent 12 years at Aberdeen Asset Management, most recently as head of client service - EMEA. He has 20 years of asset management experience and has also worked at Deutsche Asset Management.
Claude Chene, global head of distribution, said: "This is an important hire, enabling us to work in close partnership with institutions and wholesale investors, as we continue to provide them with investment capabilities that help address complex issues in uncertain markets.
"Neil brings a deep knowledge of the investment management business and significant client service experience in the EMEA region."
The US dollar is close to peaking and the risks now seem to be on the downside.
