Alliance Trust appoints Dobie to board

Former journalist and group head of marketing at GAM, Clare Dobie, has been appointed to the board of Alliance Trust as an independent non-executive director.

Dobie joins the board with immediate effect. For the past ten years she has been running her own marketing consultancy but prior to that, she was group head of marketing at GAM from 2001 to 2005. She also held a number of roles at Barclays Global Investors and spent 15 years as a financial journalist, including working as the city editor for The Independent.
