PIMCO appoints new EMEA head as Benz departs

PIMCO has named Craig Dawson as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) as Bill Benz retires after 30 years.

Dawson is currently a managing director and head of PIMCO's strategic business management. In taking over the new role, he will relocate from PIMCO's headquarters in California to London. The new role will see him responsible for 460 employees, two trading floors and $520bn in assets. He joined PIMCO in 1999 and was previously head of product management for Europe. Benz will retire at the end of June 2016, having worked at PIMCO since 1986 in roles including head of EMEA and chairman of PIMCO Funds Global Investors Series.
