Second Iran fund launches for UK investors

Sanctions lifted after 36 years

Iran-based asset management firm Griffon Capital has launched an Iranian fund for international investors following the lifting of sanctions last week.

The open-ended Griffon Iran Flagship fund will allow foreign investors to invest in the Iranian stock exchange via a regulated, institutional platform. It is domiciled in the Cayman Islands and the group aims to raise €100m from UK and European investors for the vehicle. Managed by Mehdi Farivar and Hossein Salimi, who have a combined track record of 40 years investment experience, it seeks to achieve long-term capital growth and offer risk-adjusted returns on an absolute basis by investing in value and growth stocks.
