What can FundCalibre rankings tell us about investor sentiment?


Ratings agency FundCalibre marks its first anniversary this week, and a look at the site's most popular portfolios hints at the investment trends making themselves felt so far in 2015 - and potentially in the months to follow.

With 210,000 views made by the site's 22,000 users since launch, the most viewed funds act as bellwethers for retail investor sentiment. This is particularly the case when comparing the rankings for 2014 – encompassing the first five months of the firm's existence – to 12-month figures. For example, investors' wish to capitalise on the European Central Bank's quantitative easing programme means they have seemingly turned their attention from the Jupiter UK Growth fund to Jupiter European this year.  The former featured on last year's top ten list, but the latter made the grade on a 12...
