Disgraced former IMF chief plots $2bn hedge fund

Former French presidential hopeful Dominque Strauss-Kahn is hoping to raise $2bn to launch a hedge fund.

Strauss-Kahn, who was forced to resign from his role as head of the International Monetary fund after becoming embroiled in a sex scandal, joined with banker Thierry Leyne last year to form investment firm LSK. The pair are now meeting investors with the intention of launching the DSK Global Investment fund, a global macro fund aimed at institutions. The fund will "use the expertise that we have in following economic movements, and translate that into profitable trades," Reuters quoted LSK chief operating officer Mohamad Zeidan as saying.
