Morley Fund Managers has not determined whether the European value fund it plans to launch will have a Continental or pan-European remit.
Alan Gadd, managing director at Morley, said there are plans to launch such a product to capitalise using the expertise of Rita Dhut, who joined the group from Prudential early last year.
Dhut currently works on Morley's European equities team but her track record and experience is based on value investing.
However, many of the details concerning the forthcoming European portfolio have not yet been finalised by the group.
Morley is still, for example, researching whether there would be more demand for a fund that includes exposure to the UK or one that excludes it.
The group is also deciding whether the fund will be UK domiciled or an offshore Luxembourg-based Sicav.
Gadd, who joined Morley from HSBC last year, does not expect the fund to be heavily marketed initially. It will have a low profile while it builds up a track record, he said.
