Equities have stalled somewhat in 2014, while bonds are facing headwinds from the unwinding of QE, both presenting challenges to investors. What is the key investment call for your team at present? The main call we are making now is to be underweight conventional fixed income in favour of floating rate bonds, hedge funds and absolute return bonds. On the equity side, we are heavily weighted to emerging markets and Asia over developed markets, as we take the view emerging markets look a bit overdone now, but will be much more attractive over the next five to ten years.
