Balancing Japanese equity exposure to mitigate global risk factors

So far this year, we have seen Japan's equity market rising on the back of a supportive global backdrop, a relatively stable currency and healthy corporate earnings growth.

The March 2017 fiscal year results saw record earnings per share on the back of a combination of self-help cost cutting, as well as an improving domestic economy and moderate global growth.  We believe March 2018 earnings will be underpinned by the positive outlook for the Japanese economy.
