Asia's strong equity market performance in Q1 2017 carried through to Q2, helped by positive earnings surprises and strong economic growth.

While the past two years have been challenging for many Asian companies, growth turned positive in Q1 of this year, and the outlook for the rest of the year has been revised upwards. It remains to be seen whether Q2 earnings will match up to these expectations.  However, companies not only need to grow their overall business but also return some of that profit to shareholders.
