Its players offer an alternative and disruptive way of accessing and selling into markets that are already huge and well established. Subscriptions provide regular revenues that are easier to forecast and smooth out seasonality in sales. Customers who 'rent' or 'pay as you go' rather than own, benefit from time savings, convenience and the opportunity to receive a variety of goods within a product range, often at a lower overall cost.
