Kepler brings in Sloane Robinson to run second fund on its Dublin UCITS platform

Long-biased long/short EM equities strategy

Kepler Partners is launching an emerging markets equity fund as the second product on its Dublin UCITS platform, Kepler Liquid Strategies (KLS), to be managed by emerging markets specialist Sloane Robinson.

The fund, named KLS Sloane Robinson Emerging Market Equity, will be a Dublin-domiciled UCITS vehicle, and is expected to begin trading on 3 April, subject to regulatory approvals.  Kepler has appointed EM specialist Sloane Robinson to run the product, which will be co-managed by its CIO Ed Butchart and managing executive C.J. Morrell, who previously ran funds at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.  The fund will be a long-biased long/short product, investing in a concentrated portfolio of 30 to 35 emerging market stocks on the long side, while using derivatives, currencies and cash for risk...
