Schroders' Wade: I'm much more concerned about inflation under Trump

Keith Wade, chief economist at Schroders, has said he is particularly concerned about inflation since Donald Trump has become the US President, as the majority of his policies are reflationary.

During his election campaign, Trump pledged to increase US economic growth to 4% per annum, create 25 million new jobs and deport immigrants, while his proposed fiscal policies include tax cuts, spending increases and import taxes, among others. However, Wade (pictured) said for the US to grow at an annual rate of 4% it would have to "go back to the 1960s", calling Trump's proposals "retro-policies", which will return the country to the kind of environment it was in decades ago.
