Canada Life lifts suspension on property fund range

Canada Life has lifted the suspension of redemptions on its Canlife UK property life and pension funds after almost two months, though the group warned "valuations remain subject to uncertainty".

Like several other open-ended property funds, the group suspended trading on its commercial property funds on 6 July amid a swathe of industry-wide post-Brexit redemptions following market volatility. The group said property valuations continue to be subject to some uncertainty due to the unknown impact of Brexit, but said it had processed two sales in August, improving liquidity on the fund.  However, Canada Life will continue to apply a fair value adjustment on property values in the fund, which seeks to balance the interests of policyholders who may leave the fund with the interest...
