Allianz Energy fund manager Wheaton departs

Hands fund to Rohan Murphy

Chris Wheaton, manager of the Allianz Energy fund has left the firm after 11 years, Investment Week can reveal.

Wheaton, who joined Allianz Global Investors as a media analyst in 2005, and took on management of the fund in April 2007, left the firm earlier this summer. A spokesperson for the group said: "We can confirm that Chris Wheaton left the company in late June following some changes to our UK equity research team based in London. "We wish Chris every success in the future."
