BMO GAM soft closes absolute return property fund

BMO Global Asset Management has soft closed its €300m F&C Global Real Estate Equity Long/Short fund and has indicated the product could be hard closed in the future.

The property fund is managed by Alban Lhonneur and Marcus Phayre-Mudge and was launched in December 2012.  Structured as an absolute return strategy, the fund invests in pan-European real estate securities and can allocate globally on an opportunistic basis. It aims to capitalise on the structural inefficiencies of the listed real estate sector through a long/short strategy. BMO GAM has now decided to soft close the fund after assets reached €300m.
