Columbia Threadneedle 'monitors flows' on UK Absolute Alpha

Columbia Threadneedle is keeping a close eye on flows into its UK Absolute Alpha fund and considering further measures to limit demand, Investment Week can reveal, after AUM jumped from £373m to £988m in a year.

The group said if the long/short fund continues to grow in size it would look at further containment measures, including soft closure. Marketing activity and new client pitches have ceased during the past year and the group has already spoken to existing clients to request no new inflows in order to manage capacity.
