MFS launches global long/short fund for Swanson

Tactical overlay to hedge risk

MFS Investment Management has launched a global long/short equity fund run by chief investment strategist James Swanson.

The Managed Wealth fund offers investors exposure to the global equity market but with a tactical asset allocation overlay that uses systematic hedges to help manage risk. MFS launches equity income duo Swanson (pictured) will be lead manager while Jonathan Sage will be responsible for stock selection. Swanson will work with other senior members of the group including MFS president Michael Roberge, and CIO of global fixed income William Adams to determine the fund's net asset class exposure.
