M&G's Bailey steps down from Global Dividend fund for governance role

Simon Bailey has stepped down as deputy manager of the £6.2bn M&G Global Dividend fund, which he co-managed with Stuart Rhodes, as he moves to the group's corporate governance team.

Bailey (pictured) has co-managed the fund with Rhodes for the past six years. His role as deputy manager on the vehicle will be taken over by John Weavers, who has been at the firm since 2007. Weavers also co-manages the £455m M&G North American Dividend fund with Rhodes. An M&G spokesperson said: "We have been keen to build on our existing stewardship capability to help the investment teams engage with companies on corporate governance issues and to do so on a global basis.
