Gibson Smith, fundamental fixed income chief investment officer at Janus, will leave the company at the end of March 2016 to spend more time with his family.

He joined Janus as a fixed income analyst in 2001 and entered his current role in January 2006. During the last ten years, Gibson has developed the fundamental fixed income team, which today has $35bn AUM. As a result, Janus has promoted a number of members of the existing fundamental fixed income team into leadership roles. Darrell Watters will become US domestic fundamental fixed income head while Chris Diaz becomes head of global fundamental fixed income.
