RWC to launch first EM retail fund for former Everest Capital team

Portfolio will replicate $1.3bn institutional strategy

RWC is preparing to unveil its first emerging markets fund, allowing UK retail investors access to strategies run by the team it hired from Everest Capital earlier this year.

Headed up by John Malloy and James Johnstone, the RWC Global Emerging Markets Equity fund will launch in November, replicating the team’s $1.3bn institutional strategy investing in emerging, frontier and Asian markets. Consisting of around 50 holdings, the new long-only fund will focus on companies exhibiting strong growth characteristics that are not yet reflected in their share price. The team said the recent market volatility means there are plenty of valuation opportunities to exploit in these areas.
