Prusik's Manners: Why Vietnam is an emerging hotspot in Asia

Prusik's Heather Manners is backing Vietnam as an Asian hotspot, as the country gears up to sign trade agreements, apply for MSCI membership and increase foreign ownership limits.

The firm's CIO and manager of the $87m Prusik Asia fund, said she has "got more excited" about Vietnam as it prepares to sign the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a free trade agreement currently under discussion among 12 countries, including the US, Japan, Australia, Chile, Peru, Singapore and Malaysia. "All the massive industrials are taking on sites in Vietnam and trying to expand away from China. "Wages are cheaper and it is becoming a very important manufacturing location for key brand names in all kinds of different sectors, which is driving GDP growth and wages growth," Manners...
