M&G rings changes on four equity funds

M&G is bringing its top quartile Japan funds in-house, changing manager on its Smaller Companies portfolio, and adding a co-manager to its European Smaller Companies fund.

The firm's Japan funds are currently run by Asia-based Eastspring Investments, a fellow subsidiary of parent Prudential, but are returning to M&G as part of changes to its equities team, Investment Week can reveal. Subject to regulatory approval, Eastspring investment director Johan Du Preez will take over management of the Japan fund from colleague Dean Cashman (pictured) in September. He will also take over the Japan Smaller Companies fund from Max Goodwin, pending FCA approval.
