Woodford/Barnett-backed trust readies fresh C-share issue

An investment trust which has captured the imagination of many of the country's leading fund managers is preparing to raise money from investors for the second time this year.

P2P Global Investments, the peer-to-peer trust, has announced it is "actively considering" a further issue of shares, just four months on from its most recent fundraising. Originally backed by hedge fund manager Marshall Wace, P2P Global raised £200m at IPO last May and a further £250m in its first C-share issue earlier this year. The trust already has several high-profile backers, with Neil Woodford, Invesco Perpetual's Mark Barnett, F&C's Gary Potter and Rob Burdett, and AXA IM's George Luckraft among those to have bought the portfolio as an alternative source of income.
