Man GLG hires £1bn ex-Carmignac duo

Former Carmignac head of emerging market equities Simon Pickard and colleague Edward Cole are to join Man GLG.

The pair quit Carmignac in February, owing to what the French fund house described as "different personal reasons", but will now reunite at Man GLG. Pickard (pictured) and Cole will run a newly-launched Unconstrained Emerging Equity strategy at Man GLG, and both intend to make "substantial personal investments" in the fund. At Carmignac, the pair had run the £1bn Carmignac Emergents fund, and also had responsibilty for the emerging markets portion of the group's flagship £19bn Patrimoine fund.
