UK All Cos sees record monthly outflow while Europe reverses trend

European equity funds saw record net retail sales in March according to The Investment Association (IA)'s latest sales figures, but UK All Companies suffered record outflows as investors continued to turn their backs on UK equities.

Net retail sales into European equity funds rose to £663m in March, far surpassing their monthly average of £11m. Tracker funds also had a record-breaking month, with £938m flowing into the passive products. Meanwhile, UK equity funds saw a net outflow of £963m, the largest net outflow on record, reflecting the uncertainty surrounding both monetary policy and the upcoming general election.
